    Habitat for Humanity ReStore sells new and gently-used building materials and home improvement products to the community at discounted prices. ReStore proceeds go to Habitat Kent to help build homes for qualified Habitat homebuyers.

    makes a difference.

    Since 2004, our ReStores have generated over $5 million for Habitat Kent – that’s enough to build 36 homes!

    Products are sold to the general public at prices 50-70% below average retail costs.

    ReStore products may be used in the construction of Habitat homes to reduce material costs.

    Because of ReStore donations in Kent County, we’ve diverted nearly 8 million pounds of waste from the landfill.

    ReStore relies on volunteers to help with customer service, sorting inventory, cleaning merchandise and picking up donations. Whether it’s an entire day or a few hours, one person or a large group, ReStore is a better place when volunteers are helping us support affordable housing efforts.

    Donations to ReStore helps build more safe, stable, and affordable housing in our community. Revenue from items sold at our stores helps build one entire house each year!

    Drop off your home goods, appliances or building materials at one of our two locations or click below to schedule a free pickup.

    Items we accept include: Appliances, Cabinets, Doors, Electrical Supplies, Fasteners, Furniture, Hardware, Housewares, Lighting, Lumber, Plumbing, Reclaimed Wood, Supplies, Tile, Tools, Upholstery, Wallpaper, Windows and more!

    Unfortunately, we are not able to accept: broken furniture, dishwashers, paint of any kind, box springs and mattresses, broken glass, office partitions, used carpeting, TVs/CRT monitors, tires, children’s toys or infant items, clothing/linens, curtains, entertainment centers, single-pane windows (expect antique wood framed or rolled glass)

    Material Recovery Program

    Starting a new home improvement project? At no cost to you, ReStore will send an experienced contractor to professionally remove the salable product such as kitchen cabinets, clean up and provide your client with a receipt for tax-deduction through our Material Recovery Program.

    Products will be sold at ReStore to help Habitat build and rehab more homes in our community.

    What donations does ReStore accept?

    ReStore accepts new and gently used building materials and home improvement supplies.
    That can be anything from lumber and tools to doors and windows to furniture to appliances, so long as the donation is clean and functional. This includes:

    Electrical Supplies
    Fasteners
    Furniture
    Hardware
    Housewares
    Lighting
    Lumber
    Plumbing Supplies
    Tile
    Tools
    Upholstery
    Wallpaper
    Windows

    What items does ReStore NOT take?

    Broken furniture, dishwashers, any kind of paint, box springs and mattresses, broken glass, office partitions, used carpeting, TVs/CRT monitors, mattresses, box springs, tires, children’s toys or infant items, clothing/linens, curtains, entertainment centers, single-pane windows (expect antique wood framed or rolled glass)

    What does ReStore do with my donations?

    Donations are sold to shoppers at discounted prices—typically 50-75% below retail value. Proceeds fund Habitat home builds for families across Kent County.

    Can ReStore pick up my donations?

    Yes, ReStore can send a truck to pick up larger items. To schedule a pick-up, call (616) 202-7305 or visit our online scheduling page here.

    Who can shop at ReStore?

    YOU can! ReStore is open to the public: come one, come all!

    Can ReStore deliver my purchase?

    ReStore does not offer a delivery service, but purchased items can be held at the store for up to five business days while you arrange transportation.

    Does ReStore Provide a Discount for Veterans?

    All of our ReStore locations proudly offer a 10% military discount to thank veterans and active military for their service. A valid military or veteran ID required.

    Group Interest Survey

    • Habitat for Humanity of Kent County provides a variety of volunteer opportunities which can vary depending on the group size, age restrictions, season and general availability. Construction opportunities are full day commitments. Should you prefer a partial day activity or volunteers to work in shifts you will be scheduled for specific tasks or in one of our 3 ReStore locations.
    • Age restrictions apply to certain projects and will be enforced. Most tasks require volunteers to be at least 16 years old. Specific jobs may allow other ages. These restrictions will be indicated by a member of the volunteer services department when a date is offered.
    • Please acknowledge that you understand groups may not be confirmed until 30-60 DAYS PRIOR TO THE DATE AGREED UPON by our volunteer services department. Due to the volume of requests for volunteer opportunities, we will ask that you agree/disagree to the date we offer within a week’s time (unless otherwise noted in our email). This ensures we can look for an alternative date if necessary and place you within a timely fashion.
    • After the completed form is submitted expect to be contacted by a member of our volunteer services department within one week.
