Curb Appeal is Back!
It’s that time of the year again! The annual Curb Appeal Contest is back in the Roosevelt Park and Baxter neighborhoods.
If you are a resident in either neighborhood, you’re invited to spruce up the outside of your houses and yard. Get creative with landscaping, painting, or any other ways to work on your curb appeal! Homeowners and renters are welcome to participate!
Contest Details
New participation requirement:
This year, all participants will upload their own before and after photos when registering for the contest.
Please note that before pictures are required to participate.
Contest Timeline:
- Friday, May 9: Registration closes. All before photos must be submitted to participate in the contest
- Friday, May 16: Contest begins
- Friday, August 1: Contest ends. All after photos must be submitted to be eligible for a prize
Baxter
Contest Boundaries
- North: Wealthy St; East: Ethel Ave; South: Martin Luther King, Jr. St; West: Eastern Ave
Kick-Off Event
- Date: Friday, May 16
- Time: 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm
- Where: Baxter Plant Sale (Baxter Community Center - 935 Baxter St SE)
- What: Pick up your yard sign at the event! The first 50 people will get a $100 gift card (*must already be registered and have before photos submitted).
Winners
- Winners will be contacted by phone on Friday, 8/15
Roosevelt Park
Contest Boundaries
- North: Wealthy St; East: Century Ave; South: Burton St; West: Clyde Park/Godfrey
Kick-Off Event
- Date: Friday, May 16
- Time: 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm
- Where: Habitat Kent's Garden (425 Pleasant St SW)
- What: Pick up your yard sign at the event! The first 50 people will get a $100 gift card (*must already be registered and have before photos submitted).
Winners
- Winners will be contacted after August 1 and recognized at Family Fiesta (date TBD)

Each neighborhood will have the following winners (renters can place in all five categories):
- First Place: $1,000
- Second Place: $740
- Third Place: $500
- Most Creative: $400
- Best Renter Upgrade: $400
