Welcoming our new VP of Finance and Administration

We’re excited to welcome Evelyn Esparza-Gonzalez to Habitat Kent as our Vice President of Finance and Administration!

Evelyn is a dedicated financial leader with a passion for using her expertise to uplift communities and strengthen mission-driven organizations. She holds a Master of Accountancy from Davenport University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Grand Valley State University.

With more than a decade of experience in nonprofit administration, Evelyn has built a career rooted in service. Her work has focused on developing systems that empower individuals and address real community needs.  At Family Futures, she supported families through early childhood initiatives. At the Hispanic Center of Western Michigan, she led transformative operational improvements as President, advancing growth and long-term organizational stability.  Most recently, as Financial Controller at the Area Agency on Aging of Western Michigan, she guided financial planning and accountability for programs serving older adults.

Evelyn’s lived experience has given her a deep understanding of the barriers many communities face, and a strong commitment to ensuring access, dignity, and equity are at the heart of her work.

She is now excited to step into her new role at Habitat Kent. This opportunity brings together her passion for community and her experience in financial leadership to support a mission she truly believes in: making safe, affordable housing a reality for more families.

Outside of work, Evelyn enjoys spending time with her two young sons, who continue to inspire her both personally and professionally.

We’re grateful to have Evelyn working alongside our CFO and Finance and Administration team and for the skills and experience she brings to our organization and the families we serve!
