Real Estate Development Manager
We are currently seeking a full-time Real Estate Development Manager to join our team in Grand Rapids, MI. This role is responsible for implementing all aspects of real estate development from concept through completion, with a focus on delivering for-sale affordable housing projects. The manager will work alongside the Neighborhood Revitalization and Construction teams to coordinate the development of projects within the organization’s portfolio.

Position Responsibilities:
- Performs assessment and completes site preparation activities for vacant lots, including setback calculations, utilities planning, tree removal, and any other potential challenges based on site conditions.
- Negotiates with municipal, neighborhood, business, and other community representatives to address barriers to the development of assigned projects. Attends and speaks at public meetings to obtain necessary approvals and to understand the needs of the community.
- In conjunction with the Project Manager, it supports the acquisition of potential properties for rehabilitation by completing walkthroughs and ROI assessments.
- Coordinates with the Neighborhood Engagement team to engage residents and other stakeholders in the design and construction of developments.
- Implements a fundraising strategy for each assigned project and coordinates application submittals to maximize development subsidy opportunities through sources such as Brownfield TIF, HOME funds, AHP grants, MSHDA grants, New Market Tax Credits, and other incentives.
- Works with the VP of Neighborhood Revitalization to align the funding strategy with other competing projects and timelines.
- Compiles data for compliance with any grant funds related to assigned projects.
- Supports the VP of Neighborhood Revitalization in the implementation of large-scale development projects through community engagement, pre-development deal structure, and grant administration and compliance.
- Promotes the mission, vision, and values of Habitat for Humanity of Kent and Muskegon County.
- Receives and maintains professional development training necessary to fulfill the minimum standards of the essential responsibilities, including annual training dedicated to fostering an inclusive culture, enhancing intercultural competencies, and promoting fairness and belonging for all individuals.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications:
- Minimum two years’ experience in real estate development or related fields
- Ability to prioritize tasks and handle a variety of functions
- Exhibit strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to utilize construction management software
- Perform with minimal supervision

Pay Range and Benefits:
Pay range: $60,000 - $70,000
