We’re excited to welcome Joel Rahn to our board of directors! 

Joel is the Executive Vice President of Commercial Banking at Independent Bank. He joined Independent Bank in 2018 as Senior Vice President of Commercial Banking, leading the Bank’s commercial banking activities. He has over 35 years of commercial banking experience, including his previous role as Regional President of West Michigan at Chemical Bank.  

He is a proud graduate of Central Michigan University, currently serves as a National Board Member for Bethany Christian Services, and has held prior board positions with The Right Place Program, Wedgewood Christian Services, and the Michigan Bankers Association. 

Joel shares, “I’m excited about joining Habitat’s board because of the mission of affordable housing and great work the organization has done for decades in West Michigan. I want to help Habitat’s work expand the homeownership dream for those who feel like it’s an impossible goal.”
