Welcoming Home Veterans
For United States military veterans, coming home is more than a journey of distance. Coming home can mean returning to a place that has changed very little, while the service member themselves have changed a great deal.
Thousands of veterans have returned to Michigan, many of them to Kent County. These brave men and women have sacrificed so much to serve our country. However, a majority of veterans leave the military without having identified permanent housing or living arrangements. They deserve a place of peace and stability.
At Habitat Kent, we believe that every veteran deserves to be welcomed home to a place of peace, stability, and community. Our Veteran Program works to empower all veterans through homeownership opportunities and comradery-building events. Together we can give veterans the opportunity they need to build strong and stable lives.
