Special Thanks to the Wege Foundation for their 2007 grant of $600,000 to advance superior green strength for healthy Habitat Homes and green building education with Grand Rapids Public Schools and GR Community College's M-Tech program. With their support, Habitat for Humanity of Kent County built the nation's first LEED-certified affordable home, and in 2007 committed to building all Habitat homes in Kent County according to LEED specifications.

Special thanks to Steelcase and D&D Building for designing and constructing "Habitat for Play," a multi-structural, environmentally friendly children's play structure. It was raffled off at Rock the Block, and the winner, a Steelcase employee, generously donated it to Habitat's Dawes Ct. greenspace for the children of the Daws Ct. Habitat condominiums.
