Habitat for Humanity of Kent County strengthens families and communities in service to God through partnerships, healthy house building,
and affordable homeownership.
One of Habitat's most unique summer projects is the first four of 16 condominiums located off of Kalamazoo and 28th Street. The Dawes Ct. build has been generously undertaken by an anonymous sponsor who not only is providing the funding, but the majority of volunteers as well!

Habitat is known for building decent, affordable NEW homes. In the spring of 2008, HFHKC registered another “first” with the nation’s first LEED-certified "MAJOR GUT REHAB" of a home on Indiana NW. The home was reconstructed in partnership with Keystone Church, also the nation’s first LEED-certified house of worship. The reconstruction project wrapped up in May of 2008. The designation for a Major Gut Rehab is defined in the LEED for Homes Reference Guide - First Edition 2008 (page 3). Congratulations Habitat for another "first."
