Donate Materials

Each year, Habitat for Humanity of Kent County builds 20-25 houses in Kent and eastern Ottawa counties for deserving families.  That means each year the services of 20-25 licensed electricians, plumbers, HVAC technicians, excavators, roofers, drywall, carpet and flooring installers are needed to reach this goal.  It also means kitchen cabinets, flooring, light fixtures, doors, siding, shingles, landscape materials, faucets, sprinklers, vanities, hardware, and other materials are needed for 20-25 houses

Many individuals and businesses have committed to donating first rate materials and/or services in order to help 20-25 families move from substandard housing to simple, decent affordable homes.  Some of these individuals and businesses provide for all 25 houses built, others for 3-5 houses a year, and others for one house.

Individually, the task of building 25 new homes may be daunting, however, with the contributions and support of those skilled in the areas above, Habitat for Humanity of Kent County is able to continue to work within the community.

If you are interested in partnering with Habitat for Humanity of Kent County to change our community - one house and one family at a time, please contact Roger Peterman at rpeterman@habitatkent.org, or 616-774-2431, ext. 223, to donate new house specific materials or services.  To donate used materials or learn about deconstruction services and recycling building products thorugh the ReStore, please click here.
