ReStore depends on donations from individuals, corporations, building contractors, and social and religious organizations. By donating your new, gently used, or deconstruction materials, you can...
- Provide useful materials to others at substantially reduced costs so they may improve their homes
- Recycle materials, eliminating tons of landfill waste each year
- Assist Habitat for Humanity in its mission to eliminate substandard housing throughout Kent and Eastern Ottawa counties
- Receive help disposing of unwanted building materials
- Receive a potential tax deduction

Items we can accept:
- Cabinets/countertops-no holes
- Plumbing (usable fixtures, parts and supplies)
- Electrical (usable fixtures, parts and supplies)
- Roofing (no scrap please)
- Doors (no broken glass or holes)
- Lumber or drywall
- Windows (no broken glass)
- Carpet (no stains or holes)
- Flooring (wood, ceramic, vinyl, brick)
- Millwork/Trim (wood casing, base, vinyl base, ceramic)
- Tools (hand, garden, working power)
- Paint (no old or partial cans)
- Appliances (working only)
- Miscellaneous masonry, sheeting, siding
- Furniture
Items WE CANNOT accept:
- Broken appliances
- Blinds
- Broken glass
- Broken furniture
- Partial cans of paint
- Paint thinner or other toxic chemicals
- Clothing
- Trinkets
You can donate your materials by:
- ReStore Drop-offs: We accept donations Tuesday through Friday from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm, and on Saturdays from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. Please remember we accept only items we can resell or use in building Habitat homes. Acceptance is at our staff's discretion. If you have questions, please call prior to drop off.
- Arrange for a Pick Up: For items that are too large to drop off, please contact Scott Baldwin via email at sbaldwin@habitatkent.org or call 616.531.4591 to arrange a pick up. Collections are generally scheduled within one week of the request.
You will be given a receipt describing your donation. You may be able to receive a tax deduction for your donation; please consult a tax professional for details.
