Donate Materials & Services

Each year Habitat for Humanity of Kent County builds 20-25 homes in Kent and Eastern Ottawa Counties. This means that each year in order to reach our goal, we need both the GIK materials, services and land needed to complete these homes.
 

Many individuals and businesses have committed to donating first rate materials and/or services in order to help Habitat families move from substandard housing to simple, decent affordable homes.  Some of these individuals and businesses provide Gifts-In-Kind for all 25 homes built, others for 3-5 homes and others for one. All are appreciated!

• 4'x 6' & 8' Fiberglass ladders
• Hammers, drills and bits
• Saw horses, durable folding metal
• Heavy duty pickup truck (3/4 ton 4x4)
• Tool tailer
• Heavy duty dump truck
• 16" concrete hand held saw
• Concrete saw - walk behind
• Rototiller
• Tape measures
• Utility knives
• Welder
• Pencils

Materials Needed

• Kitchen cabinets
• Flooring
• Light fixtrues/electrical materials
• Doors/windows
• Siding
• Shingles
• Landscape materials (Download our Green-for-Green Landscape list here)
• Faucets/plumbing materials
• Sprinklers
• Vanities
• Hardware

Services Needed

• Licensed electricians, plumbers & HVAC technicians
• Excavators
• Roofers
• Drywall installers
• Carpet and flooring installers

Land Needed

Again, in order to reach our community development goals, we encourage the donation of any type of real estate including--

• Vacant lots or land
• Homes in need of repair
• Condemned sites that must be razed
• Commercial properties
• Retail properties
• Warehousing properties

Donating property is easy! Habitat handles all required paper work and pays all transfer fees, recording fees and appraisal costs.  As always, donating real estate is tax deductible.
